Absorb Fitness is a partnership of Kim Wells and Stephen Smith who bring a wealth of experience having taught regular fitness sessions in many of the leading local health clubs for many years.

Our courses are run in small groups, in health clubs throughout the North East and we pride ourselves in making sure that you receive the best possible guidance and support in your chosen discipline.

All of our courses are endorsed by national awarding bodies, OCR, REP’s or Emergency First Response.

 

Tutors :

Kim Wells - Course Director
Kim has been involved in the fitness industry since 1989. As  a freelance instructor she teaches a variety of classes including: Aerobics, Step, Body Conditioning Classes, Aqua, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Attack, Body Balance, Fitness based Yoga, Indoor Cycling and Stability Ball.

Kim specialises in  mind body disciplines. Initially training in Pilates matwork and one-to-one work with the Pilates Institute she continues her professional development with regular courses, workshops and fitness conventions.

Kim has successfully attained Teacher, Assessor and Verifier qualifications and is working towards her level 5 teaching certificate.

 

Stephen Smith - Centre Coordinator
Stephen joined the fitness industry in 2000 following an active interest in group fitness for a number of years and inspired by many great instructors he studied Exercise to Music at Gateshead College and soon built a portfolio of regular classes. A regular attendee at Fitpro and Blackpool fitness conventions, choreography became Stephen's passion and he has continually presented club members with new and challenging routines.

Following CPD routes such as those offered by Absorb he now boasts an impressive line-up to include Step, Gym Instruction, Pilates, Aqua Fit, Indoor Cycling, Circuit Training, Fitness Yoga, Stability Ball, Body Pump, Body Attack and Body Balance, Classes for the Elderly, and Relaxation.

Stephen has successfully attained Teacher, Assessor and Verifier qualifications and is working towards his level 5 teaching certificate.

Stephen is also a trained massage therapist and provides Swedish Massage and Sport Massage treatments.
